Until fairly recently Zambia remained relatively unknown and underdeveloped tourist-wise as an African safari destination. Even the Victoria Falls from the Zambian side was not considered an option for most and only the intrepid travellers braved a safari into the unknown. But those that did were left with the idea of an Africa of legends – a place of immense beauty and vast wilderness.

Things have changed today in Zambia, with the beauty and vast wilderness now more accessible and no longer the unknown of the past. Without detracting from the pristine state of its wilderness areas the country has managed to develop its tourist infrastructure to compete with the best.

Zambia has risen out of the shadow of its southern neighbour to be considered the ‘next big thing’ in Africa, but in reality today Zambia has claimed its place at the forefront of Africa’s legendary safari destinations. Blessed with great rivers, remote and vast wilderness areas and a new eagerness Zambia has arrived.
